[Katherine approaches, taking the hand to shake- it is by far the most common greeting here, though she can imagine how appalled her mother might be by it. Honestly that just made her smile a bit at the though.]

The pleasure is mine. No, I shouldn't require much else for this. Did you wish to spar or purely for me to demonstrate my skills?

[It feels a bit silly to swing her blade in empty air without even a dummy to assault, but she's done it in training so it would only be a little odd. Just odder to have someone who wasn't a teacher try to assess it.]

Spar, please, I know how silly it can feel to swing at nothing and, honestly, I'm no great master myself. It will give me a better idea of what you can do if I'm your opponent.

[He steps into the middle of the open space with her and holds the hilt in hand, bladeless until a thrum of mana causes a blue, spectral blade to form from it and he took up his ready stance.]

When you're ready, Katharine.

[Katherine nods, readying herself as well.]

I would be happy to.

[The blue blade from nowhere would have startled her a lot more if she hadn't seen magic used on weapons before, but she has so other than the vague hope that it wouldn't somehow damage her weapon she doesn't worry about it. She will spar for as long as he needs to determine her skill; she's quick and even though she's not a large person there is definitely strength behind her blade.]

[He tests her footing and her speed and the feel of the force of her blade against his, the strikes rippling through the mana but never breaking or damaging either blade. Maybe if this were a real fight on either of their sides, but that's a promising thought.

She could most certainly hold her own and seemed to at least have a cool enough head to not slip into a bloodlust in the heat of battle which was really all he was concerned about.

After a few minutes of this, he uses a parry to halt their blades with a smile.]

Perfect. You're hired, Lady Katharine.

[He stepped back from her, the blade vanishing as he stored the hilt on his belt.]

You'll have your choice of night or day time and full or part time as well.

[Katherine steps back and out of range as the fight ends, more instinct than anything else, but she grins when he speaks.]

Thank you very much! [She sheathes her blade for the moment- she'll tend to it once they're done here, but it seems like there might be more to talk about.]

I could adjust to night work if need be, but if I could start with day work then I would appreciate it. And I believe I would like to work full time? [She's not quite sure what the exact difference is but.]
